Feature | Reverie..From Then Till Now
Michellar is back with a full album to start the new year. The San Francisco based artist also known as Michelle Bond, has been on a musical roll for the past several years. Following an EP and more than a dozen singles in 2025, Michellar’s latest release, Reverie..From then till now, showcases a variety of featured artists including Gracie Lou, Harrison Black, Helen Walford, Tobias Wilson, and Christina Rntd.
This album is a time capsule woven together with strands of hope, love, and melancholy nostalgia. The first song, Its Another Year, sets the tone with a ticking clock at the very beginning of the track, telling of the relentless flow of time and the hope that change can bring. Intersections feels like a brand new season as the lyrics speak of the thrill and madness of new love, the kind of infatuation that makes you dance in the middle of the street and stop traffic without even caring. Promise and September bring in a colder breeze of reality as summer love and levity become a distant memory. The following tracks delve into the more complicated parts of love, fighting to stay vs realizing it was never meant to be in the first place. Reverie begins the healing process, becoming grounded in the natural world. By the end of the album, love is in the air again and we have made it to the warmth and magic of Christmas time with The Star.
I really like the variety of genres that show up in this album. Folk plays a prominent role, with country, blues, and pop appearing on several tracks as well. Michellar and the featured artists embody each genre flawlessly. I truly love the soft but compelling storytelling quality Michellar’s voice has. She draws in listeners with her thoughtful lyrics and wistful tone. The versatility of her vocals allows her to blend beautifully with the other artists as well. Once again, Michellar’s artistic prowess has shone through masterfully in what she has created with this album.
