Pronto Valid’s latest single, UK V!BES is irresistible. The Chicago artist, in collaboration with producer Zeelaa, provides a unique and catchy genre concoction of hip hop and UK house music called Hip House. The first couple of bars jump in with an energetic rhythm and maintain the high energy throughout the track. With Pronto Valid’s seamless flow and Zeelaa’s contagious beat at the wheel, this song takes a detour from more "traditional" Chicago rap and hip hop styles and steers us fearlessly into the UK club scene.

Pronto Valid’s lyrics invite us on a journey through a night out of blowing off steam and having “been a little stressed so I gotta let go”. His flow has engaging variety and the playful lyrics illuminate what people wish for on a night out at the club. Zeelaa’s underlying beat offers an exquisite pairing. The throbbing bassline is repetitive but there are plenty of added sound inflections to make the entire track feel fresh and interesting. I especially enjoyed the dissonant keys that pop up at opportune moments. Their sound is reminiscent of an old school video game, like the classic Mario game which Pronto Valid’s lyrics reference in the line “met this Italian thing and I hop on Peaches, I’m Luigi”.

In all, the song delivers on all fronts; sharp lyrics, a groovy dance beat, and a fresh musical take. Anyone in the Chicago area on July 19th, or in Aurora Illinois on July 26th will have the privilege to dance to this song live and experience what I’m sure will be an impressive performance by Pronto Valid on their home turf.
