Feature | You Will Want My Love

Shelita’s raw and vulnerable voice shines from the very first notes of her latest single ‘You Will Want My Love’. The song is the first release from her upcoming album ‘Into the Depths’. What a fitting title for the artist to choose after she spent the last couple of years reconnecting with her voice through freediving while recovering from a serious skydiving accident. Shelita’s album will mark her return to the music scene and tell the story of her recovery process.

“I do not know what the future holds but I can dream it.” This powerful opening line sews the seeds for what a lyrically beautiful piece ‘You Will Want My Love’ is. The song speaks to the glory of pure, unfiltered love where each party both understands and is understood by the other.  Shelita’s voice is incredibly interesting to me. She has a sort of indie/R&B sound which I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve heard before and it’s a very cool combination. The uniqueness of her tone is complimented by a catchy, but simple rhythm line that ebbs and flows throughout the track. A little over halfway through the song, all of the instrumentation drops out except for a piano playing the melody while Shelita sings “my love…you will want my love.” It is a perfectly placed change in the song, adding yet another layer to Shelita’s voice as she softens her tone to match the keys.

I, for one, look forward to listening to the rest of Shelita’s triumphant return in ‘Into The Depths’. The full album will be available August 29th, 2025.
